Seriously, when you think about it, there aren’t too many things better than math. Unless, of course, you think about a math festival! And what’s even better than a math festival? You guessed it — a math festival in your own backyard!
That’s right! The first ever National Math Festival will be taking place in Washington, DC on Saturday, April 18th. Plans for the event include a Math Midway (complete with 20 interactive exhibits), the Oobleck Olympics (at which teams will compete in a hands-on obstacle course while solving “mathletic” problems), and roving topological Houdinis (you can help them escape their handcuffs and strait jackets by using math).
There’s a lot more fun planned. All the details should be coming out in mid-February. To find out more, just click here: National Math Festival or get all the latest by following the news on Twitter @mathmoves .
Oh, and one more thing — do you know what’s even better than a math festival in your own backyard? How about a free math festival in your own backyard?!
